LIMBLE ALTERNATIVE · FASTMAINT CMMS, CLOUD OR ON-PREMISES
FastMaint: the CMMS that keeps up once the easy part is over
FastMaint is for maintenance managers whose CMMS was pleasant to start and frustrating to live with. If you’re looking for a Limble alternative, you probably know the list. Reports that won’t give you the numbers your boss asks for. Scheduling that can’t follow how your shifts actually run. Too little room to shape it around your plant. And the parts room and purchase orders sitting on Premium+. FastMaint answers every one of those, and lets you run it your way: in our cloud, or on your own servers.
The short version. If it’s the reports, the scheduling, the lack of flexibility or the plan you’re on, you’re not being fussy. Those are the gaps that decide whether a CMMS earns its keep after the first few months. FastMaint closes them, for one plant, one hotel, one facility, with two to eight people and nobody whose job title contains “IT”. Choose FastMaint Cloud and your team signs in from a computer, tablet or phone, or run it on your own servers. Either way they learn it in days, and when you call, the people who wrote it answer.
Reports that answer the question you were asked
Your manager asks what the packaging line cost you last quarter, and whether breakdowns are going up or down. A dashboard full of tiles doesn’t answer either. You end up exporting to a spreadsheet and doing it yourself.
FastMaint’s reports are built for exactly those questions, in every edition. Work order cost and duration against the estimate. Downtime compared across three successive periods, with drill-down to the records behind the total. Costs that roll up through your equipment and location hierarchy, so a whole line or a whole building has a number. On FastMaint Cloud, reports can also run on a schedule and arrive in your inbox before the meeting. Maher Kloub at National Chlorine Industries: “Very easy to learn, easy to start, easy to plan & easy to report.”
Run your own reports on your own data
Thirty days with the complete product. Load your equipment and history, and see the report you were asked for before you’ve paid anything.
No credit card. Keep everything you set up.
Scheduling that follows your shifts
Maintenance doesn’t happen on a clean calendar. There’s a night shift, a holiday shutdown, a technician on leave, and a job that can only start once another one is finished. When the CMMS can’t express that, the schedule drifts, and the team stops trusting it.
FastMaint schedules around real life, in every edition. Separate day and night shift calendars. Work orders moved off holidays to the next working day. A warning when the person assigned isn’t working those hours. Chained work orders, so the follow-up inspection is scheduled when the overhaul is closed, not on a guess. PMs by meter readings too, entered or estimated from hours of use per day. David Cook at M-I Swaco: “I have been able to see a downward trend in equipment break downs and spare parts usage.”
Shaped around your plant, not the other way round
Every plant is odd in its own way. If the software can’t bend to yours, people work around it, and a CMMS that’s being worked around is on its way to the shelf.
FastMaint gives you custom fields, task templates and equipment and location hierarchies in every edition, and a location can carry its own work orders like any machine. Mick Hobbs at Siddall & Hilton Products: “it’s very flexible and can be moulded to suit specific requirements.” Trent Le Clair at Key Technology, on the side most people forget to ask about: “On the admin side, it’s a dream to update and maintain.”
Spare parts and purchasing, without a plan upgrade
A work order that can’t see the parts shelf is half a work order. In FastMaint, spare parts, reorder points, vendors and purchasing are core in every edition. Limble puts spare parts, vendors and purchase orders on Premium+, and saves its top plan for large organizations: 21 CFR compliance, ERP and IoT integrations, multi-location tools.
Learned in days, and it stays learned
If your team spent the first weeks hunting through menus for the screen they needed, you know how quickly goodwill runs out. FastMaint is laid out for people who have a day job. Mathew Thompson runs operations at One Penn Management:
It literally took me minutes to show my maintenance staff and management staff how to interact with the software.
— Mathew Thompson, Chief of Operations, One Penn Management (read the case study)
His team saves around 7 hours a week on maintenance management now. Four of our five published case-study customers have used FastMaint for more than ten years.
When you call, the people who built it answer
We’re a small company on purpose. Email us and you reach the people who wrote the software, problems get looked at quickly, and customer suggestions are genuinely considered. Larry at A.W. Mercer, ten years in: “it works great and if you have ideas they are there to listen.” Same product, same company, since 2002.
Cloud or on your own servers. Your choice, and you can change it.
Limble runs in one place: its cloud. That’s fine until IT asks where the maintenance data lives, the plant network gets locked down, or the connection at the far end of the site lets you down. FastMaint gives you a menu instead, with the same maintenance core in every option:
- FastMaint Cloud. Hosted by us, used in a browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Nothing to install, no server to look after, updates and support in the subscription. Starts at a single user.
- FastMaint Web on your own server. The same browser access for your team, with the data on your own network, run by your IT.
- FastMaint Professional or Standard on Windows computers. Built for sites with little IT support, and keeps working when the internet doesn’t. Professional is multi-user; Standard is for a single user.
Move between them as you grow. Start installed and step up to Cloud later, or leave Cloud at any time with your whole database backed up to a file the installed editions open. Your data is never held hostage.
Getting your records across is a job you can do yourself: import categories, locations, equipment, parts and tasks from spreadsheets or CSV files, and re-importing updates what’s already there.

Who FastMaint is for
One site. A few people who already have day jobs. A manager who wants reports that answer questions, a schedule the team trusts, and the parts room in the same system, next week. If that’s the CMMS you went looking for, this is it.
FastMaint is rated 4.1 out of 5 on Capterra across 28 reviews, as of September 2026, and 23 customers have reviewed it on our own site. Pepsico’s pilot plant uses it. So do Westin Hotels, JB Weld, Katoen Natie, Alberta Electric System Operator and the City of Boulder water treatment plant.

Questions buyers ask
For one site with roughly two to eight maintenance people, yes. Reports on cost, downtime and estimates, shift-aware scheduling with chained work orders, spare parts and purchasing are all in every FastMaint edition. You can run it in our cloud or on your own servers, teams learn it in days, and support comes from the people who wrote the software.
As of September 2026, Limble’s pricing page lists unlimited spare parts, vendor and purchase order management, and meter and threshold-based scheduling on Premium+ and above. Its Standard plan covers work orders, PMs, assets and work requests. In FastMaint, parts, purchasing, vendors and meter-based PM are core in every edition.
Yes, in every edition. You can keep separate day and night shift calendars, move work orders off holidays to the next working day, get a warning when the person assigned is not working those hours, and chain work orders so one is scheduled a set time after another is closed. The Planning Report checks that both parts and people are available before work orders go out.
Both, and you choose. FastMaint Cloud is the Web edition hosted by us, used in a browser on a computer, tablet or phone, with updates and support in the subscription, starting at a single user. FastMaint Web installs on your own server with the same browser access. Professional and Standard install on Windows computers and are built for sites with little IT support. You can move between them later, and Cloud data can be backed up at any time to a database file the installed editions open. Limble is cloud only, as of September 2026.
Four of our five published case-study customers have used FastMaint for more than ten years, and several reviewers on our customers page say the same. Vertex Refining has run it at two sites for a decade. That matters more than a feature list, because the usual way a CMMS fails is that the maintenance team stops opening it.
Yes. The 30-day trial is the complete product, with no credit card needed. The equipment list, PM schedules and task templates you build during it carry straight over when you enter a license key, so the trial is also your setup.
FastMaint publishes its prices: Standard $2,500 one-time for a single user, Professional and Web from $6,000 one-time, and FastMaint Cloud hosted by us from $100 a month. Limble does not publish prices. As of September 2026 its pricing page offers a price calculator, and lists onsite implementation as a possible additional cost.
